For £6.29/$7.99 players can extend their Burnout car library with two special editions in the Carson Extreme Hot-Rod and the Hawker Mech 400. Both cars look fabulous and have a trick or two up their sleeve.
The Carson Extreme Hot-Rod has the ability to lock-on boost; meaning once boost is applied, it cannot be turned off unless you do a sharp handbrake stop. This makes the car the fastest in the game; essentially rendering any of the games races as simple. The car also has excellent handling. If you want to achieve that Burnout license quickly, this is the car to choose.
The Hawker Mech 400 enables the player to switch between boost type on the fly — making it a stunt car, aggressive car or speed car depending on your needs. That makes the car extremely versatile and lessens the need for trips to the Junkyard whilst playing the game. It is very much a novelty however, even though it looks cool.
At £6.29/$7.99 for two cars it’s difficult to recommend the Boost Specials pack. They are the best cars in the game and they do look excellent. Alas, you can get four excellent cars for the same price in the Legendary Pack.
We guess it depends on how much you want them.
