Burnout Paradise: Cops & Robbers (DLC) on Playstation 3 Review.

Cops & Robbers is new DLC for Burnout Paradise which adds a heap of new cars and new online game mode. The new cars are all police skinned vehicles, and while nothing really stands out as “amazing”, it certainly adds value to the pack when you consider your £7.99/$9.99 gets you a new mode and a heap of skins.

The new mode itself is essentially Capture The Flag. It’s an eight-player game mode where one team plays as the cops and the other as robbers. A single stack  of gold is placed randomly on the map and it’s up to the respective teams to return the gold to the base. The gold carrier will travel slower, so teamwork is paramount in order to succeed.

It’s good fun and really works in the Burnout universe. Sadly, the only real downside is a problem that has littered Paradise since launch – it’s very easy to take the wrong turn and get lost. Reliance on the mini-map can cause crashes at high speed, where as the compass is slightly inaccurate.

Still, players have had years to learn the streets of Paradise City now. And if playing Burnout is exactly your cup of tea, you could do a lot worse than this pack.
