The idea has been declared fool-proof in Japan where the blu-ray of Final Fantasy: Advent Children Complete sold 100,000 copies; with a little help from the Final Fantasy XIII demo it included.
The movie easily outsold any other blu-ray anime releases in Japan, 2008’s Macross F sitting in second place with just 35,000 copies sold.
